Summer Stroll

Ever since the war began between the Be'vaal and the Great Elves, something as simple as a casual stroll can become deadly. But for those in power, they just bring along armed guards  In this scene, a Great Fox Clan noble named Ja'ata (Adviser to the Fox Clan's Alpha) is ranting on to his guard about all of the nasty things he would say to the next dirty elf he sees... that is if he ever ends up meeting one in the first place. 

[Lore]    [This piece contrasts the size difference between the Great Wolves and Foxes of Taria. On average a male Great Wolves are the largest of the races of Be'vaal at 6'4 (1.93 meters) and the Foxes are the smallest race at about 5' (1.52 meters). However, Foxes partially make up for this with their intelligence. In most cases they are actually more intelligent than humans, and even rival the Elves at times. Still, their small size and weakness gives them a severe disadvantage in combat. As a result the Fox race as a whole are the most prone to being conquered by other Be'vaal races (also resulting in the vast majority of the Be'vaal slave trade to comprise of Foxes). So seeing a Great Wolf guarding a Fox is quite a rare sight in the world of Taria.]

This started out as a simple sketch, but I thought it would make a cool finished piece. Actually, this is the first non-comic finished piece I've made for 9 months or so... I may make a few more pieces like this one before starting my comic back up, that way I can get a good amount of practice in. This took about 6 solid hours to make (since it is about half the size of a comic page). As always, made in Manga Studio 5 with my trusty Cintiq.
